Meanwhile...

I just saw a man (from Gaza) on AlJazeera that made an impression on me. Having tasted life in Gaza his words, but especially the look in his eyes, made me shiver. Even though six months in Gaza would be laughable to any Gazan, it has still made a permanent impact on me and my thoughts, opinions, feelings and life in general. The man (on AlJazeera) said "I wish the whole world watch!!" standing in the "left-overs" of an attacked car. His eyes were filled with fear and desperation (which would be a normal reaction when people around you are dying - read "Raising Yusuf" for better descriptions) but the thing that struck me was that even though his face was red from anger his eyes were MOST OF ALL filled with hopelessness.

Hopelessness.

Hope I spelled it right.

So long as the people of Gaza support the likes if Islamic Jihad (i.e. the people who were in that car), why should they have hope?

They can have war, or they can have hope. Not both.

Actually, I thought they voted Hamas, but who's counting?

I think the issue is about genuine democracy rather than war/peace, myself

Maybe for them it is an issue of democracy. I live on the other side of the fence. I don't care about democracy. I care about kassam rockets. No hope for Gaza so long as the rockets keep flying.

If you anonymous care about Kassam rockets that travel maximum 2 km to an unpredicted path (means it can come back to us!), we care about the F-16 carrying 1000kg sophisticated explosives that can wipe a whole neighborhood in seconds!... We care about the Mirkava, we care about the intelligent rockets! we care about our children life, they cannot sleep!.

En baya! You stop the rockets, we stop the F16s.

Or the opposite... you stop the F16's - they stop the rockets.

Perhaps if Jews were one milliard there would be more angry flagburning Jews on the streets, simply because... they would be more. MOST of the muslims are also NOT burning flags.
I'm happy you like the blog!

No, no, Imaan. Hamas has said it would not stop the rockets if the F16s stop. So, rockets are set to continue. F16s will continue also. Enjoy the fireworks.

So, may the best man stop first. Yes, yes.

Or maybe Grapes of Wrath.

Imaan, nobody on the other side of the fence cares about being "the best man" in your eyes. Nobody.

I know that too well only after six months.
And thats sad on a personal level, and illegal on a global and political level.

Imaan - I'm trying to raise some awareness regarding the topic of my last blog posting. Here's the link: http://arimiller.blogspot.com/2006/02/jew-is-mightier-than-sword-or-i-eat-my.html#comments

If you could post this on your blog and pass this along that would be great.

Its funny to see the one who occupay , who distroy , who kill daily , who kidnape daily , who ignored many human rights organisations requests and many UN decisions which support the palestinians , who has the most and biggest nuclear weapons in middle east , who killed their leader to have peace with the palestinians " Rabin" is the one who act as victim! really funny
SHAS as israeli party , DID they ever accept the palestinian rights to exist and to have their own and free country ?
YOU the jews voted for sharon , and you all know who is sharom , a criminal , DID he gives you the peace you want ???
ask yourself that simple questions.

Funny to compare hamas rockets which threat only 500 israeli's at most by the f16 rockets which can harm at least 100.000 palestinians direct and indirect. How many israeli died by hamas rockets , and how many palestinians died by the different israeli rockets ? you have to know the israeli blood is more holy than the palestinian blood! stop this racists. In another word , i wanted to say for this who think he threating us with the f16 , even if you used ur biggest and most strong weapons .. it will not makes us forget our stolen rights , our freedom. You plant hate and blood here , so dont expect us to throw rose's to you. I think all the occupayed countries , every where , were fighting for their freedom this is not new you know , go back to the history and read more about the revolutions of many many people , western and eastern. I am a palestinian who is a refugee , my grands were forced by guns and israel planes rockets to leave our land "osdod" which u call Ashdood , do you accept my right to return there one day and respect it???. If you want hamas or the other palestinian party's "by the way i am not supported of any of them " to respect or accept your right of exist , then before that ask SHAS and the other israeli party's to accept the palestinian rights to exist . This is fair , isnt it ?

I am sorry sister Imaan , i tried my best to not broke ur blogs laws i mean to not make it a political one , but wallahi i cant hold myself when i see such arrogant and unfair comments .
peace upon you all
